TOP DOG COMPETITION…… What is it? It is a year long competition beginning with the January Fun Show. At each fun show throughout the year points will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd places and for Best Puppy, Best of Opposite and Best of Show. Points are accumulated from January – November which the Top Dog Award and Top Dog Runner-Up Award being presented at the Mid Florida Christmas Party. This is just a little club competition where we can recognize the nicest dog who regularly participates in our fun shows. It gives each of us an incentive to work with and condition our dogs….thus spending more time bonding with them. You have fun and your dog stays in shape! In order for dogs to be eligible to win he/she must participate in at least six (6) out of eleven (11) fun shows. Your dog need not be registered with the American Dog Breeders Association (ADBA) to participate, however our conformation fun shows are judged according to the ADBA conformation standard. We pride ourselves with guest judges each and every month who know and understand the ADBA conformation standard. They may be retired ADBA judges, have personal experience in the show ring, or they may be established breeders of the American Pit Bull Terrier. Our fun shows are about just that….FUN! Our Top Dog Contest is about good-hearted fun and good sportsmanship. You win a simple but nice award and get the honor of going in the record books as Mid Florida’s Top Dog winner or runner-up.
